The other day after work we started talking about how people name their children some weird names. Black people, I thought had a lock on naming their children bad names, until I hear my Puerto Ricans students talk about how bad the Dominican name their children, Yo, I am sorry but the look on the Dominican student’s face had me in tears, laughing that is. The look on her face said, so what if we name our children bad names, at least we are smarter then Puerto Ricans.
But the White Girl saved the day by suggesting that White people name their kids some crazy names as well. Okay go ahead tell us (Amy) a couple of bad white names for children. I thought of two, Stone, as in Stone Phillips, Apple, as in Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, okay three, Ireland as in Steven Baldwin daughter, you remember the one he was cursing on the phone and then it got played on You Tube.
I remember when names like Emma was just fine, and Mary, and James, and Daniel, now, bless these children, they have to endure names like Providence, Obidiah, Cancun, Denim and Fabric and all kinds of other stuff. Okay, in my next-life I will not have any children to name, only Robots I look forward to the none birthing aspect of it.
